Total Fucking Destruction, Suppository, Model 101 - Metal Matinee
The metal matinee is a nice Sunday afternoon in 013's Batcave, filled with underground metal bands. This one offered two grindcore acts and a band that has been reviewed here too often by now; Model 101. They're also about the only reason there is a review of this show at all, so let's see what these three bands had to offer us.Model 101
I heard a lot about this band. Of course fellow Metalragers Lukie and Demondust are in the Model 101 crew, so all the news here about this band was fan-fucking-tastic!! So am I going to do some more promotion for this band?...Hell yeah! Because this is just a great band! Model 101 took the stage and embarrassed the two bands that came after them! It was loud, it was evil and it was good at the same time. The crowd was a bit hard to please, but got more and more into it as the show progressed. Also Model 101 became more hazardous as their bassplayer almost knocked their singer the fuck out. The new songs worked excellent, and au contrair to what everyone else says I don’t think they need someone to do the electronics. It works great as it is! Go check this band out! I repeat: GO CHECK THEM OUT! (LondonCustoms)
Set List:
Breaking The Circle
Act Of War
Intercom Terrorist
Liquid Wall
Forced Religion
Pariah
Particles
Suppository
After Model 101's gig, I found myself yet again in the twisted world of grindcore, when Suppository took over the stage. These Dutch grind bastards unfortunately delivered a completely unsatisfying show, a view that most likely will be shared by the biggest part of the audience, since almost no-one applauded after any of their songs. The stage act was in such a way boring that I actually can't remember anything else worth mentioning. Too bad. (Mindsaver)
Total Fucking Destruction
I’m gonna be honest with you, I’m not a fan of this band nor will I become one after witnessing this. I love drummer Rich Hoak’s work with Brutal Truth, but I have no clue what to think of Total Fucking Destruction and their sort of experimental grindcore. The set list was two pages long, taped together en then taped onto the wall. I personally don’t know any real fans of TFD, and from the looks of the crowd they weren’t exactly creating an army of new ones here in Holland. The only thing that I liked was watching Hoak blast like a gorilla having an insane epileptic attack or something. For the rest I heard about two riffs I actually enjoyed, so too bad. I’ve seen nicer grindcore than this, and I can’t wait for the Brutal Truth trek coming up this month here in Europe! (DemonDust)
